  1. This compilation was done on NEXTSTEP 3.3 with the hppa, sparc,
  2. i386, and m68k development environments installed.

  4. This version seems to work fine on NEXTSTEP 3.3, but gives problems
  5. when running on 3.2.  I gave up trying to compile it on 3.2 because
  6. 3.2's posix implementation is broken.  If you want nvi, you are
  7. better off upgrading to NEXTSTEP 3.3.

  9. As of 1.57, Keith Bostic has switched nvi over to GNU's autoconf
  10. system.  nvi no longer needs to be ported with every release now.
  11. I am contact with Keith Bostic so that each release compiles right
  12. out of the box.  Yay!

  14. Keep in mind that by default, /tmp gets cleaned out when
  15. NEXTStEP reboots.  This means that /tmp/vi.recover will be removed
  16. unless you decide to change things around in /etc/rc.
